A time when I questioned or challenged a belief or idea and the outcome of this event
High School softball tryouts had come around , and I tried out. I thought I did really good at tryouts.
I did not make the varsity softball team my junior year even though I was pulled up to play some varsity games during my sophomore year
I questioned if I wanted to continue playing softball at all (travel softball and college ball in the future)
It contributed to my lack of confidence
this caused me to doubt my ability to play softball
I was heartbroken because I was one of two juniors who did not make the varsity team
I was embarrassed that I was cut, I did not want to see anyone who had made the team
I started playing softball at 4 years old, and softball was my world. When I did not make it, I felt like my world came crashing down.
I went to a jv practice, and I was not willing to take a step backwards.
I quit the softball program, and decided that I wanted to try something new, so I joined track.
Doing this helped me grow personally.
I learned that I have a strength that I never imagined possible
Not everything that I fail to accomplish should be looked at negatively.
I felt free after quitting, and I learned a lot about myself and others from this experience.
track experience
I got to meet new people
I got to put my running speed to test
I got to reconnect with one of my friends that I lost contact with
We started talking a lot more, we even hung out outside of school
