        Western side of the Mauritinades Mountains have rivers which wash down sediment into the Rheic Ocean. This forms orthoquartzite rock which is the oldest in the world.
        
        Northern side of the East African Plate is colliding into Laurasia causing the North West African Plate to be impacted severely. NW Africa is the point of impact at this stage.
