Determine The Context
Just as important as defining your goal, determining the context of your presentation is also very important.
We must know who the target audience and what the skill level of the audience is. We must analyze their culture, age group, and or education to help identify any potential problem they might have perceiving visuals (Clark & Lyons, 2011, p. 36)
Novice learners benefit the most from visual aids, while this tends to hinder advance learners(Clark & Lyons, 2011, p. 36)
As part of knowing your audience think about potential handicaps. If we are trying to target adult males who have a higher percentage of colorblindness. We might want to consider using something other then Red or Green to identify correct answers. We might want to use symbols instead (Clark & Lyons, 2011, p. 36).
