        Easy to use but learning is slow as depends on the timing of the reinforcer and has a moderately fast extinction rate. (After reward has been given)

        Provides some elements of surprise; produces a slower steady rate of response.
    - - Given after a fixed number of behaviours/responses have exhibited regardless of the amount of time as lapsed between the occurrences of the behaviour.
        Response rate/response stability high but with rapid extinction/disappearance rate when number of desired behaviour met.
    - - Most powerful schedule for maintaining desired behaviour
        Reinforcement delivered after an approximate number of behaviours are exhibited.
        Response rate/response stability similar with fixed ratio but extinction is very slow as when reinforcer/reward to be given is unknown.
