The Millennial Question - Simon Sinek
People born from 1984 and after.
Narcissistic, self-interested, unfocused, lazy.
Unhappy
Parenting
Technology
Impatience
Environment.
They grew up under failed parenting strategies.
They told kids they were special and they could get anything they wanted.
When they get into real life, they realized it is not that easy and they are not special.
We put filters on everything.
While we are on social media a hormone called dopamine is released. It makes us addicts because of the pleasure it causes us.
Don't know how to make deep meaningful relationships.
Superficial friendships.
They don't have the cope mechanism to deal with stress.
Social media is not bad, imbalance is what affects young people.
Instant gratification on everything except for job satisfaction and strength on relationships.
They have to learn that things that really matter take time
Millennial generations enter to corporate environments that care more about numbers than kids.
Lack of good leaderships
Look up - Gary Turk
We close ourselves from the rest of the world when we use technology
We are becoming slaves of a technology we made ourselves.
Look down - a response to the "Look up" video
You can connect with people on the internet.
There are a lot of interesting and moving things.
You can find new places you would never know without looking down to your phone.
Smartphones are not the real cause of dumb people.
On internet you can express yourself.
We don't have real friends, they are just an illusion.
We are loosing the sense of inclusion and companionship.
We are teaching little kids that being so close to technology is normal.
Look up from your phone and don't miss all the opportunities life can give you. Live life the real way.
Your loneliness is on you, not on your phone.
It is not the internet but the people who are making it a bad thing.
Media is just people
