Love vs Lust
Nick and Nadine. Nick wishes for lust and Nadine wishes for love.
Erwin and Nadine have a friendship that is developing into more of a love relationship, rather than lust.
Lack of Parental Support/Parental neglect
Erwin's parents away for 3 months- Nadine goes to Erwins house, and whilst being there realizes that he has been home alone for awhile. Erwin also states that his parents will be away for 3 months, that is also Parental Neglect and a lack of parental support, considering Erwin will be competing in the film studies and his parents wot be supporting him. This also give the idea of loneliness, Lack of Parental Support and Parental Neglect.
Mona leaves her children for the weekend. Mona leaves her children for the weekend for her own personal needs, just carelessly informs them and out the door she goes. This is a sign of parental neglect
Mona's bad advice- Nadine is going through a rough patch in her life and seeks advice. And she does so, through her mother. But her mother being the self centered person that she is gives the most terrible advice you could ever give to your child, which probably didn't even make a difference
"No one gets me"
Nadine, commonly in this film displays a lot of the quote "No one gets me" she shows us that she is the only person in the world with these problems and that no one else gets her
Mona loss of husband - Mona acts as if the loss of her husband makes her superficial than her children. Saying that he is her husband and that it was much harder for her because of the status she held as his wife. So therefore "No one gets her"
Darian (Krista) "The one person who gets me". In this film it shows as if Darian is this perfect person and everyone understands him. But Darian also feels like no one else gets him, besides Kirsta. And as he states that Krista is "The one person who gets me" he cant completely have her without destroying his little sister.
