Colour Wheel Assessment
Brief
In your own style and artistic expression, create a poster showcasing your
interpretation of the colour wheel within a manual drawing. The drawing
should impart a specific theme or message.
Assessment Instructions
Taking design elements and principles into consideration, you are to
demonstrate your knowledge of colour theory and manual drawing to
recreate a bespoke colour wheel using primary, secondary and tertiary
colours. You are to include a minimum of one tone and one tint of each
colour. You will need to document the ideation process in your visual diary
from research through to thumbnails.
On completion, you will create a colour key for your work, sampling the
colours and providing both the CMYK breakdown and Pantone Colour
book names.
Technical Specification
Size: A3 – include a 10mm border and the following information in the
bottom right of the drawing, neatly boxed and hand written using fine
line markers.

To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your
ability to demonstrate the key skills/tasks/knowledge to an acceptable
industry standard:
