Anything can be passed on such as beliefs, language, artifacts, and even values.
I would classify as a male for sex and my gender would be more masculine. Gender is something that people learn as they grow up.
I believe that learning culture will help me better communicate with certain types of patients. 
Although culture is something we should all learn, we do not have to accept the beliefs or practice the cultural beliefs.

Technology has changed the way that people can communicate even if they are from different cultures. It gives the opportunity for people to learn about other cultures.

Race is different than ethnic identity. Ethnic identity is solely based on the culture of a certain group of people.

Acculturation occurs when one culture budges into another culture and their beliefs fall off onto each other.
I went through some acculturation when I used to live in a small town and then I moved to a bigger city. The city people began to rub off on the way I performed things.
A few ways can speed up the process of acculturation such as studying the culture before moving, or being smart, young, and open-minded.
