Concentration Camp Conditions By: Gracie Malicoat
Both
many people to a room
conditions were dirty and not what they were used to
rooms were small and compact
Put in camps due to differences that others were afraid of
Got beds and rooms
had to move quickly
People were trying to stay strong but underneath they were broken and afraid
people in camps had different levels of power
man in Manzanar who was leader and people in Auschwitz who had different talents that were useful to the power were given better things
All were angry but mostly living in fear for their lives
Auschwitz
clothing is not nearly as available
didn't get to bring personal items with them
less food rations
gas chambers present
conditions were extremely close
dead bodies all around
Manzanar
Had clothing with them
surrounded with familiar people and family
Didn't have to give up as much when going to camps
Got breakfast and meals more frequently
less people per room but still were cramped compared to previous living conditions
more homey than concentration camps
weren't sent to gas chambers or other deaths
