Challenge:
Waiting time and order of steps not followed by the interdisciplinary team.
Barriers to Integation
Different health care professionals have different roles or responsibilities
Different ways of working and are not always easy to coordinate
In my example, the nurse and ct scan technologist had different ways of working
Either one could have put the iv in, but there was miscommunication to who would do it.
Lack of communication among the professionals
Software issues/malfunctions in technology that used to communicate between the nurses and technologists
Potential enablers of integrated Healthcare
Interprofessional teamwork
Nurses communication
Physician participation
Transformational leadership
strong relationships within the community
Patient engagement
E.R Leadership
Effective communication within the interdisciplinary team
Interdependencies between Main Actors and Structures
E.R Doctor
The doctor needs to have the right symptoms from the patient to diagnose correctly
The doctor relies on the ct scan taking the correct scan of the body
Nurse
Needs to communication with the doctor and technologist to see what needs to be completed
Patient Transporter
Their job was to drive me to each section of the E.R including down to the ct scan room
Make sure the Technologist is aware that the patient is ready
CT Scan Technologist
Communicate with the nurse to see what is the next few steps
Their job is to take the ct scan and send it back to the doctor with the results so the doctor can read the results
Patient
The patient is in charge of describing the symptoms they are feeling
Main Actors
