School Uniforms
Pros
Can break down social structures between students in schools. ( Popular, Nerds, etc. )
Can possibly increase students focus, by leading to better attendance rates ( because your not looking for anything to wear), and can also lead to better safety because it would be easier to spot outsiders in community.
Can Increase Sense of community in schools, better school spirit being portrayed from students and staff members.
-
Could improve transition to adulthood because you practice coming in everyday in your required attire; which is required at most companies.
You could save money, by not buying much clothes.
Cons
-
Uniforms denies students of self expressing themselves, and can also lead to sexist issues with parents because of what boys and girls are required to wear.
Reasons for it is to stop bullying; chances are it increases bullying. Or little change in the behavior.
Sources say, government are focusing heavily on uniforms instead of finding ways of increasing education.
-
Statistics
-
Percentages of public schools reporting that they required students to wear uniforms increased from 12 to 20 percent.
-
76 percent or more of students were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch than of schools where lower percentages were eligible reported that they required school uniforms.
Paragraph Ideas
Talk about how the plan came about in the opening paragraph. What made the government initiate that there should be a uniform code for all public and private schools.
Third Paragraph should be your own based opinion on if uniforms should be implemented into public and private school requirements.
Second Paragraph, you should be getting into the body of your paper. Speak upon statistics of voters who went against and for school uniforms, and their decisions behind why. Then speak upon the pros and cons of having school uniforms.
The fourth paragraph should be an opinionated futuristic outlook on uniforms being implemented in schools. This would then lead to your closing statement in the 5th paragraph to end your paper.
