Psalm 44: Trust in God's save
recall the memory of Israel history
their fathers told them; having heard
what the deeds God performed in their days
planted them (Israel?) vs drove out the nations
afflicted the peoples vs set (Israel?) free
won the land or to be saved
not because of Israel's own sword or arm
because of the light of God's face & God's right hand and arm
for God delighted in them (Israel?)
"You are my King, Oh God"
God ordain salvation for Jacob
they push down their foes through God
they tread down their opponents through the name of God
Neither they trust in their bows or sword to save them
For God have saved them from their foes and have put those who hate them to shame
they boasted continuously in God's name
they gave thanks to God's name forever
rejected and disgraced them
feeling?: all day long the disgrace is before me
having not gone out with their armies
turning back from the foe
made them like sheep for slaugher
scattered them among the nations
having sold them for a trifle, not demanding a high price
made them the taunt, derision, scorn of their neighbors
have made them a byword among nations, a laughingstock among the peoples
shame has covered his face at the sight of the enemy and avenger
asking and call for
awake, why are you sleeping, O Lord?
rouse yourself, do not reject us forever!
why do you hide your face?
why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
rise up, come to our help
redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love
their soul is bowed down to the dust
their belly clings to the ground
