        Blended Learning is a relatively recent trend. Literal translation is combined learning and, effectively, it is a combination of virtual and physical environments in the learning process.
    - - First generation: The correspondence model. He stood out for the printed material and no interactivity.
        
        Second generation: The multimedia model. The printed material included audio tapes, video tapes and computer-based learning, the latter with interaction.
        
        Third generation: The telelearning model. It incorporates audio-teleconference, videoconference, audiographic communication and radio / television transmission.
        
        Fourth generation: The flexible model of learning. It has the support of interactive online multimedia, access to resources through internet and communications technologies (CMC).
        
        Fifth generation: The intelligent and flexible learning model. An improved version of the fourth generation by including online interactive multimedia, access to resources through the internet, use of autoresponder systems through communication technologies (CNC) and access to services and resources through an institutional portal.
