Event 1: Gaining Attention
Web Design Funny Commercial
Students will complete a survey.
Event 2: Inform the learners of the objectives
Students will select and use a template
Students will demonstrate how to insert text boxes, images and website links.
Students will identify expectations related to creative commons and fair use.
Students will integrate content from Google Drive
Students will compile website links and objects to embed on a webpage.
Students will create five webpages.
Event 3: Stimulate the recall of prior knowledge
Students will create a Google doc
Students will access a Google slide from their drive
Event 4: Present the content
For each goal, the teacher will demonstrate a related skill
Students who have completed the survey as "confident" in an area will demonstrate a related skill
Event 6: Elicit Performance
Students will be provided time in class to work on skills as outlined in the course goals
Students will have assignments to be completed outside of class related to course goals.
Event 7: Provide feedback
The teacher will monitor student progress and provide corrective feedback where necessary.
Event 8: Assess performance
Frequent formative assessments will be given throughout the module to assess the student understanding of the tools on Google sites
The creation of their website will be a summative assessment.
Event 9: Enhance retention and transfer
Students will brainstorm ways that they can apply these skills in other classes.
Students will complete a survey.
Event 5: Provide learning guidance
Students will reference a Google blog
Teacher will provide screencast, step-by-step instructions for students to reference.
Teacher will provide written examples for students to reference, both paper copies and on-line in a blog format.
