More commonly diagnosed in men rather than women
More commonly diagnosed in upper class and in cities compared to rural areas.
Classification of Schizophrenia
Doesn't have a single characteristic - cluster of symptoms that seem to be unrelated
Two major systems for the classification of mental disorder are the ICD-10 and the DSM-5
They differ slightly in the classification of schizophrenia

One positive symptom for example hallucinations, delusions or speech disorganisation
ICD-10
Two or more negative symptoms are sufficient
