-
Sam spends time in sporting environments playing adapted sports in his wheelchair (tennis, floor hockey, soccer, baseball, and skiing)
-

Rationale
Low-Tech
Wedge
Sam has left obliquity that may cause contractures during long hours of sitting in his wheelchair. Providing a wedge in his chair will neutralize his body posture and distribute his weight. Pelvic obliquity adds weight in one buttock, which increases the chances of getting a pressure sore (Moore & Etten, 2015).
Table/desk attachment
Sam would benefit from having a table closer to his body due to easier access, improving posture, and completing assignments more easily. This would be beneficial so that his desk is always at the right height and he can work from any environment, rather than finding a desk to fit over his wheelchair while on campus.
Pointer
Sam will benefit from using a pointer to provide efficiency when using his iPad during class and prevent frustration.
Mid-Tech
Grammarly App
Sam could benefit from utilizing the Grammarly App to improve his writing in papers and assignments.
-
High Tech
DragonAnywhere
This dictation app allows for users with unique voice patterns by recognizing and adapting to the voice over time (Housden, 2017). In addition to dictation, Dragon Anywhere also allows the users to edit their work in real time. For example, if the user typed "dictation app," they could then say "highlight dictation app, bold" and then the words dictation app would be bolded.
