Phenomena
tectonic plate movement
convergent boundary
divergent boundary
when two tectonic plates separate and create an area of sea floor spreading.
when the heavier tectonic plate goes under the lighter one and pushes it up
Transform boundary
Transform boundaries slide against each other
volcanoes
inflation
This a cinder cone volcano because its not tall and the lava isn't dripping out
volcanic inflation is when the lava heats up and pushes the earth up and the earth cracks and inflates like a baloon
shield volcano
this is a shield volcano because it is wide and the lava comes out of it like water and doesn't go high it just runs down the sides of the volcano
earthquakes
fossils
we did a lab on this with a balloon and we put it under flower and when we blew it up the flower moved abd cracked
fossils can be as old as the earth
fossils can be 2,460 feet deep in the earth.
old fossils can be found on the top of the soil because of erosion
s waves move in the shape of an s
p waves push up
surface waves are the strongest because they shake the top of the earth
