- - - - Visceral pericardium: Serous membrane made of simple squamous epithelium and areolar connective tissue surrounding the heart.
      - Parietal pericardium: Serous membrane surrounding the outter walls of the pericardial cavity.
      - Space between the visceral and parietal pericardium containing serous membrane to prevent friction.
  - - - Right: Oxygen-poor blood enters right ventricle from right atrium.
        Left: Oxygen-rich blood enters left ventricle from left atrium.
    - - Oxygen-poor blood leaves right atrium and heads towards the lungs for oxygenation (pulmonary circuit) via the pulmonary trunk and pulmonary artery.
    - - Oxygen-rich blood leaves the left ventricle and heads out to the body (systemic circuit) via the aorta.
