        The demand for cardiologists will most likely never die out. This is because people will always have heart problems, whether they be genetic, or self-caused, such as diabetes, or over-eating habits, respectively.
  - - - Checking up on patients and monitoring their symptoms
    - - EKG's, echocardiograms, ultrasounds, blood tests, etc
- - - - Although it seems like a sarcastic answer, being blind would be difficult, if not impossible for the job. Being a cardiologist means being able to read and interpret graphs, perform minor surgeries (e.g. inserting a stent), and so on. Otherwise, there are no limiting factors for cardiologists. Even being mute is possible to have a cardiology job, because now, hospitals are required to have translators by law (such as sign and foreign languages)
  - - - These are important qualities/abilities because one is constantly subject to changes in the medical field because nothing tends to remain the same.
        
        For example, while shadowing the cardiac sonographer, we were performing an echocardiogram on 2 babies in the NICU, one had higher resolution pictures, and the other had poorer resolution pictures. There was no particular reason, because both babies were similar in size, and both had the same scanning probes used, but the images had a grainier quality
      - Quick Thinking Abilities
    - - Being able to clearly communicate in the medical field is an important ability for all. For example, one is less prone to error because of misinterpreted information. Also, being able to communicate with other patients explicitly allows for the building of relationships and trust between the doctor and patient. After all, it's reassuring to know that one's life is in good and trustworthy hands.
    - - Knowing how to think abstractly is important for this job because it permits the cardiologist/resident to interpret situations that standard procedures aren't useful for.
        
        For example, when I was shadowing at University of Louisville Hospital, my shadow host and I were performing an echocardiogram on a patient, we had a hard time reading images, so the sonographer had injected the patient with a solution that illuminated the heart, and scanned from different angles to create a better image of the heart.
    - - The ability to speak foreign dialects isn't always necessary but helpful. Touching on two previous points, the hospitals are now required to have interpreters. However, being able to communicate personally with another patient is comforting, and builds the relationships of trustworthiness based on communication.
