Frederick meets a nice white lady (Mrs. Auld)
Mrs. Auld teach Frederick his ABC andhow to spell four letters words.
Mr. Auld finds out that his wife is teaching Frederick how to spell. Mr. Auld said if Mrs. Auld continue to teaching Frederick how to spell they will get rid of him.

Frederick talks about how mothers feel about their kid being sold for slavery.
Frederick's mom will visit him at night time

Frederick talks about how slaves are not giving beds.
Frederick talks about how Mr. Severe will wipe his slaves if they don't get up in the morning.

Frederick was 16 when he got a new master.
Frederick starts acting mean to his new master.
Frederick's master hired a slave break to "break" Frederick
Frederick is happy that the slave breaker didn't wipe him
The slave breaker "breaks" Frederick by scaring him
"You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a man."
This means to me that Frederick have turn into a slave. Now Frederick is going to turn into a man again.

Frederick's new master is less cruel and more tolerable
Frederick starts teaching other slaves (at least 40 slaves) how to read.
In 1835 Frederick starts thinking about escaping to the Free state(the north)
Frederick wants to bring the slaves that he teach to the free lands too.
"In coming to a fixed determination to run away, we did more than Patrick Henry, when he resolved upon liberty or death. With us it was a doubtful liberty at mos, and almost certain death if we fail. For my part, I should prefer death to hopeless bondage"
This quote means that Frederick knows that it is going to be dangerous to escape to the free lands but Frederick rather die then be a slave
Frederick's plan for escaping to the freedom is to go on a boat and hope that people think that they are fishermen. Also Frederick wrote a latter saying that his mater wrote it.
