SOCIAL
1.1 MAKING FRIENDS- Adele seeks others to play with, although these interactions don't usually last long due to her lack of verbal communication and short attention span
1.2 CONFLICT RESOLUTION- Adele has hardship resolving conflict, when faced with challenging situations she usually shuts down by crying and placing her head on the floor
1.5 INTERACTING POSITIVELY AND RESPECTIVELY- Adele tends to work alone, leaving others space free and respecting their work by not being aggressive or touching others belongings
1.9 INTERACTING WITH ADULTS- Adele is beginning to approach one ECE in her classroom when she is hurt, sick, or sad.
IN CONCLUSION- Adele has begun to develop her social skills. Although she may not be as socially aware of others point of view as the average child at this age. Although Adele faces extra challenges, she tries.
About Adele
Adele is four years old, she was adopted by the Tremblay family at the age of 5 months. She now lives with her brother, mom, and dad in a low socioeconomic neighbourhood
Adele seems to be a determined girl. After working with a speech pathologist at her school she has now developed a 600 word vocabulary and usually speaks in short utterances.
Adele has an emotional bond with her stuffed bunny, Mr. Bun Bun
Adele's teachers would describe her as, "passive". She tends to be careful while working with new materials or new people.
Adele's spends most of her time in the manipulative area, or flipping through books. She is very attentive when the taught information includes babies and animals.
Family History
Adele was adopted at the age of 5 months old. Her birth mother smoked through her entire pregnancy, while drinking occasionally.

Postpartum, Adele never breast fed and struggled to gain weight.
PHYSICAL
5.2 GROSS MOTOR MOVEMENT AND EXPRESSION- Adele enjoys dancing to music. She effectively matches movements to the tone and rhyme of the song.
5.3 FINE MOTOR DRESSING- Adele has learned to manipulate zippers, snaps, and velcro although she struggles to do up her buttons or tying her shoes. While dressing for outdoor activities, she tends to take a bit longer than other students
5.3 FINE MOTOR TOOL USE- At home Adele's family tries to help her work on her fine motor skills by beading with string.
5.1 INCREASING LEVELS OF ACIVIY, ENDURANCE, AND VARIATIONS IN TYPES OF ACTIVITY- Adele thrives in the outdoors. She can freely explore large equipment and enjoys gross motor activities.
COMMUNICATION
3.1 USING VERBAL AND NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION- Adele shows indications of this skill such as; using gestures and signs to communicate and singing songs in her home language (English). Adele was said to sign at her pre school, but in her new classroom teachers say that she rarely uses this as a method of communication
3.7 ENJOYING LITERACY- During free time, Adele usually tends to sit in the reading area flipping through books. During singing activities Adele shows great enthusiasm and pleasure.
3.10 PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS- Adele shows great joy while singing music, she also enjoys reciting sing-songs and rhymes, especially those paired with actions.
3.12 UNDERSTANDING OF ORIENTATION AND FAMILIAR CONVENTIONS OF PRINT: As stated above, Adele understands the act of reading as she flips through the pages with Mr. Bun Bun

Adele attempts to seek play mates, and join into groups, but these interactions tend to not last very long due to her lack of verbal communication
EMOTIONAL
2.1 SELF CONCEPT- Adele has begun to develop self responsibility in tasks such as dressing routines. Although, she has difficulties talking about her personal characteristics. Rather than describing herself with, "I" she uses, "we" as in her and her stuffed bunny
2.4 RECOGNIZES AND EXPRESSES EMOTION- Adele is beginning to express how she is feeling. When frustrated, although Adele may resort to crying, she is still expressing her negative emotions in a way that does not harm others
COGNATIVE
2.10 CLASSIFYING- Adele knows how to effectively sort shapes base on their colours, shape, and sizes.
