Source: Bonded by Battle, WWI / WWII Chips deserves to be featured in the United States War Dog Museum for many reasons. One reason is that he went through rigorous training just to be prepared for battle. Another reason being is that he fends for his fellow soldiers on the battlefield. For example, Chips took on an automatic machine gun that had the potential to fire. Then, Chips jumped into an insurgent nest and sunk his jaws into the enemy. Lastly, Chips is the only dog to receive 3 of the highest medals, being the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Service Cross.
