How does this issue affect people?
How does this affect less economically developed areas
The main reason Human trafficking affects poorer people is that it creates a hunting ground out of small village communities, creating an environment of fear and oppression, fear of losing family and oppression by being threatened by traffickers if they want to speak up, the fact that they are poor works against them because traffickers may trick people by falsely promising them paid job opportunities, which is something they desperately need.
How does this affect more economically developed areas
The main reason Human trafficking affects richer people is less that there is a fear to go out into the neighbourhood, but that when travelling there is a risk of becoming trafficked, especially naive youth who get manipulated, thus making travelling and holidays have an element of risk & fear to them
Where does this issue occur?
Effectively everywhere in the world
Why is this significant?
Because it means that it is a global problem, no one can simply ignore trafficking if it happens within their country, no matter what economical status or cultural environment you live in.
