Test Report "SAFI to support Martinair Freighters"

Last update: ....
Zoom out
Martinair delivers SAFI messages -- containing (updates to) flight schedules -- in a variant which is somewhat different compared to 'standard' KLM.
An update to the Middleware is developed to support this 'variant' for aircrafts PH-CKA, PH-CKB and PH-CKC. This should result in proper flights schedules in Maintenix for which LPA can be used.
Furthermore, in this middleware version the "Down" / "Landing" message is filtered out in order to decrease the number of messages sent to Maintenix.
Test Goals
Scheduling and re-scheduling of Martinair freighter flight plans are correctly delivered and processed in Maintenix, so that LPA can be used for PH-CKA, PH-CKB and PH-CKC

Planning flights
-
:red_cross: S03 - "Planned Flight - Single Leg" is updated to another a/c registration (Tail Swap) and correctly updated in Maintenix
:red_cross: S04 - "Planned Flight - Multi Leg" is updated to another a/c registration (Tail Swap) and correctly updated in Maintenix
:red_cross: S05 - "Planned Flight - Single Leg" is re-scheduled (delay) and correctly updated in Maintenix
:red_cross: S06 - "Planned Flight - Multi Leg" is re-scheduled (delay) and correctly updated in Maintenix
-
Flight is executed
-
-
:check: S01 - A flight Leg is sent as "Block Off" / "Actual Departure" and is correctly updated in Maintenix
:check: S04 - A flight leg is sent as "Block Down" / "Actual Arrival" and is correctly completed in Maintenix
Bugs
:red_cross: B01 - In the case of an Overnight Delay for KL, the message with the delay contains the flight name with an extra character (i.e. KL1234D), resulting in two flights in Maintenix (i.e. KL1234 and KL1234D) - Accepted
:red_cross: B02 - Martinair reschedules results in SAFI sending 'Cancel' and 'New flight' messages. The Middleware sends the 'Cancel' message as both a 'Cancel Flight' and 'New Flight' type message to Maintenix. This results in a duplicate flight in Maintenix, both with the old and new departure and arrival times.- To be verified
Risks
R01 - 'Double flights' can occur whenever a Martinair freighter is re-scheduled
Mitigation: Do not alter the MDW filter to allow PH-CKA, PH-CKB and PH-CKC messages in Maintenix

Advice
Advice for go-liveIt is advised to go live with the tested SAFI integration version without allowing the flight schedules for the three freighters. While there is no definitive solution for freighter flight schedules, this version contains benefits regarding the amount of KL messages received.
- Bug B01 is deemed a 'minor' defect. / existing production issue with workaround. The middleware employs a "Flight Auto-Complete" mechanism to ensure the duplicate flight is completed in Maintenix the moment the original flight takes off. This does not cause any issues for LPA.
- Martinair Freighters only: Messages concerning Tail Swaps and Reschedules sometimes aren't sent to Maintenix. While Firda/SAFI sends those messages to the Middleware, these are not always forwarded to Maintenix. This results in LPA Work Packages existing on the wrong aircraft, and not existing on the expected
aircraft.
