Chiropractic
Principle : Diagnoses and treats mechanical disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system with the intention of affecting the nervous system and improving health.
-
Limitations : Not suitable for major back/neck/spinal problems especially e.g. prolapsed (slipped) discs, spinal fractures, spinal deformations, pre-existing joint problems/injuries e.g. damaged ligaments/tendons.
-
Aromatherapy
Principle : makes use of essential oils (EOs) solely or sometimes in combination with other alternative medical practices and spiritual beliefs to heal a person, by affecting the target's mood or health.
Limitations : Limited medicinal ability to cure illnesses, and not for injury management.
Foot Reflexology
Principle : Involves the massaging, squeezing, or pushing parts of the feet to improve general health.
Philosophy : areas on the foot correspond to areas of the body, and that by manipulating these one can improve health through improved circulation of energy around the body i.e. one’s ‘Chi’.
Limitations : There have been concerns raised that treating potentially serious illnesses using foot reflexology may delay or prevent proven treatments and cures that conventional medicine provides from being used.
