The evaluation involves:
• Reviewing report cards
• Administering of tests.
The SST group meets to review the
evaluations and assessments, if any were done, and determines if the child is eligible for Special Education services.
If the student is found to be a child with a disability and needs special education
The team will meet within 30 days to write an Individualized Education Program (IEP)
The child’s education and services will not change until parents consent for special education to start and the IEP is finalized.
The IEP team and parents meeting and
talks about the child’s needs and writes the IEP.
