My grade team learning support teacher is awesome! She does push-in support two times a week but the more the merrier I am. Students struggling with completing assessments could use a learning support staff person to assist with tests in whatever fair capacity is possible.
Use a "quiet space" in the classroom to help the struggling student focus. OR if it is a student who finishes early, give them the same quiet space for expanding on their knowledge of the topic at hand with maybe a reading resource or an ipad app that reinforces the learning.
Try to buddy the student with a peer that is compatible. If it is a student that has learning needs, pick someone who has a personality that can withstand it and also hopefully a friend of the student.
A buddy system still works with exceptional academic students too! They can be paired with any student still learning in order to either learn a new perspective or do collaboration, which is highly praised in the PYP curriculum.
