Technology does not need to be every moment.
We totally agree! Technology has a time and place as do paper pencil and face to face lecturing type activities!
I agree, there must be a balance, from the art perspective, there is something to teaching traditional media.
Technology does not always save time.
These levels are not the end all be all of utilizing tech in the classroom. We also think it is important for teachers to be exposed to all levels at once so that they are immediately aware of the formats that tech can be utilized.

There needs to be a balance and options for the students.
More time needs provided to explore and create authentic, quality uses of technology.
There are different interpretations of the SAMR model.
More support needs to be provided to help with the integration.
Important to remember the analogy that the SAMR model is like a swimming pool... "when learning to swim you should stay in the shallow end."
Appropriate amount and use of technology
Finding a balance with the younger grades with handwriting and practical computer skills. Also finding age appropriate purposeful activities.
Balance the use of tech in the classroom.

It's how the tech is used, not just the use of tech.
I agree that we should use each of the SAMR categories as appropriate as often as possible!
We agree that technology has the capability of enhancing student learning when thoughtfully incorporated.
Kids will be more engaged.
We agree that kids are motivated by using tech
There is a time and a place for substitution and augmentation for both teachers and students when integrating technology with instruction. We need to consider what we will gain before using technology.
It's a good thinking tool model.
Promotes collaboration among students.
Technology helps to extend the learning into the home and gives students the opportunity to better assess their own work (independent of their teacher's presence).
Using technology and seeing their own thoughts will help to clarify their own ideas.
That technology is necessary for them to be ready for the future. They need to be confident with technology and how to work through problems to find solutions.
Sometimes these levels are completely applicable and appropriate depending on the task at hand.
It engages students and is tailored to their needs and interests.
It is important because it is a part of their future.
Tech can be a tool for students to succeed or access their learning that may have been closed off.
We agree sometimes we mistake what we typically do on paper with what we do on the computer with "integrating", but it's not necessarily increasing learning
