Organic Law of Education

Article 8. The selection process for the appointment and transfer of teaching staff will be among educators who aspire to the position in the school region.

Article 3. The applicant for a teaching position, director, national supervision, submitted to competition, who does not submit the complete documentation, will not be considered eligible.

PERMANENCE
Contracting and Dedication Regime Article 3 of Law 47 of November 20, 1979 establishes the conditions for appointments.
• Interim corresponds to the appointment that is made, usually at the end of the school year.
• Probation refers to the appointment that is made for two consecutive years, if the evaluation of the teacher is satisfactory achieves permanence in the position.
• Permanent appointment is granted when the teacher satisfactorily fulfills his two-year probationary period.
Salary
Article 184. For salary effects, teachers of secondary education will be divided into three categories: A. Professors with university degree of professor B. Professors with university degree C. Professors without university degree
ASSISTANCE
Article 124. All members of the teaching staff of pre-primary, primary and secondary schools must report to the school where they render their services eight (8) days before the beginning of the classes to carry out the preparatory work Indicate
Vacations and leave
Article 153. Members of the teaching staff who are separated from the service by illness, mourning or other proven urgent cases, shall be entitled in the year to a license of up to fifteen (15) days entitled to pay.
Article 155. The advanced pregnant status of the women employed as a member of the teaching or administrative staff of the Education branch is incompatible with the position they hold.
Resources and funds
Professionals who come to the country on their own account and under contract with natural or juridical persons established in Panama, shall pay for education insurance 2.75% for all income received by the independent professional, as established in Cabinet Decree No 168 as amended by Law 13 July 1987
Administration of funds
In Panama, more than 6% of GDP is allocated to public spending in location, which places it in Latin American countries with a higher expenditure in this area.
