Chinese sounds mild and peaceful. the language itself is fluent and lack of strict rules. (never learn Chinese grammar at school)
ENGLISH
English sounds louder and more energetic. For formal English, there are more descriptive adjectives.
DIALECT
people speak in different dialect hit me with different first impression, both in English and in Chinese.
sometime I may choose my friends based on how they sound like. for instance, I feel more comfortable making friends with people with northern Chinese accent.

many good novels and articles are written in English or languages other than Chinese. Meanwhile the translation will always miss some of the meaning.

many readings from Western country are about the equality between races, which is aspiring to me, though the situation of discrimination is never severe.
some of the readings are over-stating the disadvantaged races, sometime they are even more privileged.
HISTORY
in China: the discriminition used to exist between Han people and Manchu-mainly because of the conflict of interest.
globally: the advantaged races often cast discriminition on disadvantaged people. People are not good at accept others that are different from themselves.
