Rewards
Great Pathway into the Workforce
Huge learning opportunity

Demands
Big Commitment
Huge Responsibility
Requires some idea of where you want to go
The First Step...
The first step to reaching my goals is to graduate high school
Skills I will Need:
Organization, Collaboration, Responsibility, Independence, Perseverance, and more.
Organization will allow me to keep track of the things I need to do and to help me feel less stressed.
Collaboration will get me through tough projects and prepare me for the rest of my life.
Being responsible will allow others to trust me, and for me to get things done. It means I will hand in work, take new opportunities, and more.
Being independent will get me through high school because I can solve my own problems, do my own work, and it is a great skill to have later in life.
Perseverance is important because times will get tough, but I have to push through and work towards my goals.
Tools I will Need:
Great Teachers, Resources, and a little bit of help.
Great Teachers will teach me the things I need to know, they'll provide me with information about life, and ultimately, they'll guide me towards my goals.
The Resources I'll need can come from my teachers, my parents, my guidance counselors, and others. It can include where to go to school, how to choose where to go to school, and what to study.
The little bit of help could come from the people around me. Whether it be some help on how to finish my project, how to apply to university, or a push in the right direction (by my parents).
Second Step...
The Second Step would be to choose what post-secondary school I want to attend.
Do I want to go to University? To College? Something Else?
The truth is, I don't know. I think that I want to go to University, though.
What do I need to do?
I need to use my resources such as University visits to my school to find out where I want to go.
I need to graduate High School with good marks in University level courses. I can apply my skills such as organization, responsibility, independence, and others, in order to accomplish this.
I need to explore my interests and look forward in life to figure out what I wish to study and become.
Third Step and Beyond
The Third Step would be to find that path that I want to take.
Right Now, I am interested in various paths. Maybe a physiotherapist, a job related to social sciences, or as a Canadian Border Security Officer. All of these things interest me, but at this point, who knows what path I'll choose?
The person I am now and the job I'll have in the future could be very similar. Or maybe, I'll discover an interest in something new along the way. This is why my goal is to go to University, to open up new opportunities for someone like me.
This path might take years for me to find, but I will use my skills to find exactly what I want to do.
