- - - - The Wright brothers were developing air crafts in the early 1900s; however, it was unreliable and many were scared to volunteer as passenger in them. It was only after the Great War that they gained popularity.
  - - - The “Tin Lizzie,” changed the way Americans live, work and travel. Henry Ford's revolutionary advancements in assembly-line automobile manufacturing made the Model T the first car to be affordable for a majority of Americans in the Gilded Age. This was the first Ford automobile, sold at a cheap price that many middle class Americans during the Gilded Age could afford. This in turn allowed for sub-urbanization to take place.
    - - This new process in manufacturing made automobile production much quicker and more efficient. Ford took the idea of interchangeable parts from Eli Whitney and assembled a uniform production system that lowered costs as well.
  - - - Passenger ships transported immigrants to Americans ports such as Ellis Island, New York, and Angel Island, California.
      - The advance of these ships and their ability to transport many people is what inspired the mass immigration that was seen from Western Europe to Asia.
  - - - The Pullman Sleeping Cars gave people a better and more comfortable traveling experience as they used trains as a primary source of transportation across the United States.
    - - The Union Pacific Rail Line began in the Great Plains and connected the cities of the east coast of the United States. Irish workers often laid the tracks for this line.
      - The Central Pacific Railroad began in California, and was built by the Chinese who increasingly immigrated to America.
- - - - Farmers were forced to buy all the manufactured goods they needed for survival on a market protected by tariff legislation at artificially high prices while selling what they produced on a largely unprotected and highly competitive market at depressed prices because of oversupply and foreign competition. Thus, the tariff policy of the country often worked a double hardship on agricultural interests
    - - As more and more crops were dumped onto the American market, it depressed the prices farmers could demand for their produce. Farmers were growing more and more and making less and less
    - - As agriculture became less rewarding, more and more farm owners lost their farms when they could not repay bank loans. As a result, their mortgages were foreclosed on and their farms were auctioned off . During the Glided Age, more and more farmers lost their land and slipped down the agricultural ladder into tenant farming, sharecropping, and the crop-lien system

        Railroads transported many people, and led to the development and transportation of the West. This influenced the idea of "manifest destiny" and spread the word on to others for the expansion of the country. Railways made it accessible and economically affordable for individuals to settle in areas like Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, the Dakotas, Colorado, Oklahoma, etc. Also, as railroad companies grew in power, they gained more and more influence in politics, leading to "robber barons" and their unfair rebates, kickbacks and so forth.
      - The steamboat was introduced to make it simpler for people to travel up river, and make it easier to transport goods and services.The Railroad was built so the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States, and connected these two to carry passengers and goods from one place to the other. This initially increased the response rate of communication in how people did not have to wait for longer arrival or departure times, but could boat upriver instead of waiting weeks to months for a ship to arrive.

    - - Invented in 1877 by Thomas Edison, this was the first ever creation to reproduced a recorded noise/sound. This became a nation-wide sensation as this created new ways to communicate and events to have leisure time between individuals. As it revolutionized the music industry, it created big revenues for businesses and as well contributed to the rise of the middle class. This creation was able to record political events and debates instead of papers as it provided a more advanced way to prosper information. This contributed immensely in terms of communication in the Gilded Age.

    - - The telephone was a development from the typewriter, in that it allowed the ability to call others from great ranges, or even across the globe. It generated large revenues and sped up communication but allowing it to advance from just plain old paper. This boosted the Age of Enterprise and contributed to the global economy as well. This along with the typewriter allowed for the quick movement of information from one place to another and phone in particular led to the development of the suburbs and the separation of homes and businesses.
      - The Typewriter advanced the stage of communication in how it allowed for information to be recorded at an alarming rate and was very legible to people. It allowed for messages to be transmitted much faster around the globe and was used across great distances. It required a very short wait time, compared to earlier inventions, and advanced the speed of political output for the government and information that people needed to know in the community.

    - - The newspaper was invented in order to keep the people of the society about the government's doings and the events happening in the area, as well as tell real rumors and not made up ones. This affected the people of the time because it would update them immediately and was the main way people got information (like how we use websites such as Twitter and other innovative applications). These standard newspapers criticized the government while also speaking about arising and dominating political parties of the period. Also, this innovative idea being very popular led to huge profits in America.
