Environment and Climate Impacts
Teachers can begin to explain the importance of protecting the environment to students by discussing human's harmful actions and the impacts it has on our climate. Students can tour and explore polar Bears and the melting ice caps as well as the deforestation happening in rainforests across the world.
Link this to National Parks to discuss how we can help the environment and preserve these attractions.
Solar System
Student's can explore the Earth's Solar System to learn about the planets that surround us as well as what is beyond our galaxy. To further this unit, they can then pick one planet, star, or galaxy to further research and create a presentation for.
Develop Language
Teachers and students can be detectives of language, by studying the oral and written languges of various ancient and current cultures. Students can spend time studying hieroglyphics or even writing letters in Morse code

When conducting research projects, students can learn about and explore the organization of libraries and search engines. Students can practice key word or author searches, and use to utilize their resources, such as librarians, to locate desired artiifacts. In addition, teachers can use the opportunity to teach primary vs. secondary resources.
