unconscious decision making factors
What other people buy
Consistent with persona
Always have the latest tech?
Paying off obligations/social debts
supporting a peer
Fear of loss
SALE, LAST 3...
trusting your gut
People equate having choices with power/control
people need to feel that they are in control and have choices
They don't always choose the fastest way to complete a task
when deciding how audience will complete a task,
offer more than one way, even if alternatives are less efficient`
Just so people will have a choice!
Once you've given them multiple choices, they'll be UNhappy if those choices are taken away
if you upgrade your system to have a better way of accomplishing tasks,
Leave in option to do it the old way to keep people happy
give them options
Need to understand unconscious motivations of audience
why they actually pay VS
Why they think they pay
people justify things to themselves
Make decisions unconsciously
still need rational justfications
even if they're not the same reasons people actually make decisions based on
TIME sells better than money
Spend a little time to save time
better than spend a little money to save time
people are very influenced by other's opinions and behaviours
especially when uncertain
if they haven't heard of the brand they will look at reviews!
Use testimonials, ratings & reviews to influence behaviour
The more information you provide about the person who left the rating
the more influential it will be
If people say that they're not influenced by them, don't believe it.
Resist the impulse to provide people with a large number of choices
They will ask for more
Conversions are better with less
tailor results to their abilitys
If possible, limit the number of choices to 3/4
give them another subset if they don't like what they'r being offered with first options
People want to connect (Personal)
triggered by reference to time
