Preoccupation with the fear of having a serious disease which persists despite negative investigations

- preoccupation with the idea of having a serious medical condition
Repeatedly ruminates on this possibility
Insignificant bodily abnormalities, normal variants, normal functions and minor illnesses interpreted as signs of serious disease
Patient regularly seeks medical advice
Cross-over with delusional disorder

Pharmacological
Benefit of antidepressants, even in absense of depressive symptoms
Fluoxetine 20mg -> 60mg
Imiprimine up to 150mg
