What is the mission?
The mission of the New York Public Library is to inspire life long learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen the communities.

NYPL has a very broad collection. It's the third largest collection in the world.
With the funds increased in 2016, many branches have extended hours and open every day.
The NYPL has a many outreach programs. Between their 92 branches, they have over 92,000 events each year (wow!).
They have a large collection of eBooks.
They have a large children's collection between the 88 branches and online digital collection.
The NYPL gets funding (not all of it) from the state and local government/taxes.
