- Interim-Benchmark: Periodic testing throughout the school year to measure student growth or academic progress.

- Formative: Procedures used by teachers in their classrooms in order to modify teaching and learning structures to improve the students' academic progress.
Examples: Informal assessment: Observation of a student participation during instruction.
Formal assessment: Quizzes
- Summative: refers to an overall evaluation of students' achievements within a period of time.
Examples: Standardized testing(State), End of the year academic testing (District).
- Diagnostic: Examines the students' skills and knowledge upon entry to a program.
