Diagnostic
Definition: Process of gathering student learning, by providing feedback and adjusting instruction to enhance achievement conducted by the teacher during instruction when a teacher checks for learning and understanding during instruction.

Ex. 2: Strategic Questioning
Definition: Standard or set of standards, that is conducted at the end of a chunk of learning at the end of the semester or quarter. Short tests that can be used to rate performance or level of learning that can be given throughout the school year that can be used to meet individual needs.

Definition: Summative Assessments are used to evaluate student learning of a defined instructional period. Summative Assessments are evaluative rather than diagnostic. Summative's can be recorded as scores rather than grades.

Definition: A form of testing where students perform a task rather than select answers from a pre-made test. Skills are measured through authentic activities, exercises or problems where they can show what they can do.

Definition: Is a form of diagnosing what a student does and doesn't know. Usually happens at the start of a new phase of education, like the start of a unit that will cover what the unit will consist of and serves as a guide to help teachers guide what and how they will teach it.

Assesment Data
Definition: Are a variety of forms of interactions such as homework, discussions, projects, standardized tests, quizzes and presentations that can be used to guide and align instruction based on student needs.

Assessments can be used for different purposes such as placement, evaluations, academic support from teachers and parents.
Is the wide or variety methods a teacher can use to measure readiness, skills, learning progress, acquisition, or needs of a student.
