The Conservative Fear: That TV is a vehicle which exerts trashy and immoral shows. It brings poor morals and trashy culture.
The Liberal Fear: That TV is a trashy mass-medium of distraction. The fear of making audiences passive, and less concerned about the world.

Hopes of TV :star:
TV would be a public service whose mission would be to improve 'the masses' in terms of informing, educating and entertaining. Through all of this, TV would improve democracy, that was the hope during the time of its invention.
