AQA Biology 9-1
Enzyme
Two parts , enzyme and substrate
-
-
Enzymes denature very quickly after they reach their optimum temperature (45*), this causes the active site of the enzyme to change so it cannot fit the substrate
Mitosis
Stages of mitosis
Prophase
This is when the cell is preparing for mitosis, it does this by condensing all its chromosomes
-
Anaphase
The anaphase is when the chromosomes start to move away from the middle and are pulled by spindles towards the centriole
Telophase
The telophase is when the identical sets of chromosomes are at opposite ends and start to form nuclei
Cytokenisis
Cytokenisis is the final stage of mitosis in which the cytoplasm splits with each nuclei forming two separate cells with identical components.
Mitosis is the cell division of human body cells, before mitosis there is the interphase in which the cell is replicating the dna, preparing for mitosis, mitosis only occurs in a cell 10% of the time.
Mitosis is responsible for just about everything, from growth to healing cuts and repairing damaged cells.
