DOC 1 : VIDEO : Why the British hate immigrants, Evan Edinger, YouTube, Jan.16
Complains about the UK immigration system = in his opinion is discriminatory.
Difficult for him to find a new job = the UK government tries to deter companies from hiring foreigners.
British companies are reluctant to sponsor non-EU citizens because it involves too much paperwork
TOPIC : how hard it is for people who are not British to find a job in England = they are discriminated = government's restrictions on immigration
3 years ago = arrived in the UK on a student visa, then he graduated and found a job
Last week =was fired because he “wasn’t needed any more”.
Now he is searching for a new job, and some companies have shown interest in his application, but as soon as they learn he is American, they become reluctant to hire him because it involves a lot of paperwork for them. So despite the fact that he has all the required skills and no British nationals are available to do the job, he can’t find an employer.
Thérésa May : "We are going to make companies declare the nationality of their employees : those that do not employ a sufficiently high percentage of Scots will be "named and shamed". They have a duty to this country; a duty to our people."
DOC 2 : ARTICLE : "Go home Polish scum. Brexit." Daily Echo, 04/07/16
1 : a 33-year-old woman who received a racially abusive letter on which it was written in polish "Go home Polish scum" and "Brexit".
2 : a little kid who was playing in the Queen's Park with her family when other children screamed "Speak english, Speak english !". And then the third is a man named Alex Stewart who was just walking in the street when someone yelled at him "f* off and go home".
This is an article written by Jade Grassby and published on the 4th of july 2016. TOPIC : the actual anti-polish racism in Bournemouth : in fact it explains three different racist abuses on polish people.
This document shows to us that with the Brexit, some racist people take the right to insult and do racist abuses to immigrants. I think that this people should be punished because before being immigrants, these polish people are humans and because of that we are all equal and they are as wothy of respect as nobody else. I believe that in doing this, racist people are just showing how much they are dumb and closed-minded. That's why in my opinion, these events are really sad and disgusting, we have to take it really seriously and these racist people have to be strongly punished for what they have done.
CONCLUSION
Amber Rudd : " I believe immigration has brought many benefits to the nation. It has enhanced our economy, our society and our culture. This is why I want to reduce net immigration while continuing to ensure we attract the brightest and the best."
Should soften their immigration policy which is too strict and not made to help refugees, but to limit the migratory flows and close a little more the borders of the country, which won't help anybody. + English people should learn to be more open-minded
DOC 3 : VIDEO : Pro - Refugee Demonstration (London, 17/09/16)
I chose one slogan that we can see on a placard at 00:02 or on some demostrator's t-shirts all along the video : "CHOOSE LOVE". This is an inspiring slogan because it encourages tolerance, humanism, and compassion towards refugees. I think that this slogan is beautiful because refugees have been throught hard times as leaving their home countries because of wars, political problems or things like that, and a lot of them had to risk their lifes to run away from this. They just lost everything they had to come where they are now and they don't need in addition of that to be victim of racism or to be rejected. They just need a little of love and comfort.
I believe that what these people are doing is awesome because they understood that refugees needed to find refuge and comfort instead of hate or being rejected. I think that everybody should take example on them : in the end we are all the same and we need to help each other because it could arrive to anybody, tomorrow we could all become refugees and giving a little of love to them doesn't cost anything.
