Challenges that change present to employees:
->Employees do not resist the change, but the uncertainty & fear associated with change eg uncertainty of job security, fear of losing status & power, uncertainty about if they will fit in.

This uncertainty & fear may lead to stress, lack of trust & low levels of commitment. They might even leave.
Effective change communication recognizes these uncertainties & fear and tries to inform & engage with employees (based on need for comm efficiency)

To effectively implement change, employees must not resist the change & they must be ready for the change. This can be achieved through comm strategies addressing 3 areas:
- Organisational commitment
- Change related information
- Participation
