Rebirth

Rebirth implies some level of continuity in relation to the essence of a person. However their is no formal concept of the passing on of an atman
The ultimate hope for many Buddhists is the movement away from the suffering involved in the cycle of birth and rebirth (Samsara)
the escape from Samsara is called Nibbana (or Nirvana) and can be arrived at through getting rid of craving.
Rebirth, like reincarnation, is related to karma. rebirth can be either pleasant of unpleasant based upon the actions of the body, speech or mind.
Karma

the actions committed in this life have a real connection with the kind of reincarnation that a person might have. Again if a person is 'good' then they may receive a new incarnation in some kind of higher form
what constitutes a 'higher' reincarnation varies but is not necessarily related to earthly notions of success.

Near death experiences
Near-death experience: an experience that happens when someone is close to death and provides evidence from an afterlife
Out-of-bodies experience: When a person believe that they have left their body and had an experience before returning.

eternal life
usually refers to the idea of a blissful afterlife which relates in some way or other to find a reward for how a person inhabited their earthly existance

the belief that when a person dies they will enter into an unending existence with the same identity an in their present life
it is based in the Arabic religions on the belief in God as all-loving, with the implication that god does not want life to end for those he created

Resurection

Ancient Judaism thought about the body going to Sheol - a dark place described with mystical terminology.
Later Judaism began to speak about the body being physically reanimated from the Sheol which became known as resurrection

Jesus' ressurection

Jesus spoke about the coming "kingdom of God" - a time when God's peace and presence would return to earth
disciples later associated this kingdom with Jesus himself, particularly in his resurrection and return as the Messiah
