Elements and Principles of Design
Space
Ensuring that the space is used to its full potential and used correctly in placing each design and building.
Colour
Using colours that suit the school and space whilst also using colours that appeal to the students and staff.
Shape
Since the building will be based around a sports facility having a unique shape to the building and structural pieces outside of it can create more appeal and excite students to learn and spend their free time there.
Texture
Improving the exterior and interior features of the buildings and landscape. Having a variety of textured structures that can possibly be incorporated with learning spaces and seating areas.
Tone
Many tones are possible with this project as there will be multiple buildings and structures. Although considering this project is on school grounds and will be used by students its best to possibly consider vibrant colours that engage the students to learn.
Form
All architectural buildings will have the same corresponding form.
Balance
Balance between the landscape and buildings, not over doing certain areas.
Alignment
Building structures to hold shape an alignment throughout each design.
Proximity
Ensuring that all buildings and designs/structures flow and create sufficient spaces between each building.
Contrast
Having a structure that can show contrast between each area of design. E.g. Going outside having some structural design that can show an end to an area and the start of a new one.
Repetition/consistency
Create consistency with building structures to align and look a part of the rest of the school. Without looking out of place.
