PLT - 2 June 2017
Feedback into Biodiversity Goal (Lindlyn)
Goal shared by Lin on Wed night:
Series of convo's happening
#
Process - Feeling that there should be seprate focus on bio and climate -= impactful on ground. Solutions towerd staregegy deveolpm - from all offices and govt. Diff NRO's devolop diffents hotspots. Lifestock - Brazillian office have prob with livestock. Boreal Forests were incuded = ineresting that it was. Do we want to question that? Unclear - What of our old work does not work? It seems like the framing of comments ....Melita3:29 --- Certains aspects / elements mentioned don't really warrant = Ceratin things left out whch sould be mentioned. Global issues = Livestock. Solutions unclear toward the climate goal. Shift production ... Diana W 3:30 - Conern = Good tht livestock issue is in but should be framed accoring to our NRO. Live stock is confusing. No prioritisation = what we've been doing last 6 yrs in GPAf. So much work gone into it. GPI not prioritising what about our work inthis case? C&E has been clear. Conclusion at thsi stage is = continue bus as usual - toward nxt 3 yr strat. Nxt step = encourage eveone to get into workshps and make voices clear. before 12 JUne Lin will send consolidated convos. Boreal = How did they come to this conclusion = hotspots - ancient forest. Borea not completeely out of place. Boreal might not be wise decision - mixed feelings. in GEO priorti work - indication that congo and rainforest are most imoprtant so asking at what level to we prioritise? Fight in Boreal = big power orgs also fighting. Will continue even if not a priority. Where and how do we invest our resources? Priotitisation has not been done well. Way forward - get involved in discussions. Open another goodle doc and submit before 12June.
-Programme Calendar (Toko)
Big thing next week = World Environmental day and world oceans day. A lot happening in Engagement - on / offline.
Thursday = pre-launch of Diepsloot project
Community meeting on 10 June
Crowd funding launch on 15 June
Partnership Mapping/Agreement - additional feedback (Lindlyn)
Everyone has done the extensive mapping. REmain a live doc. Propose that from SMT Doc comes back to PLT to revise from scratch.
If decision is made a team will be constituted to take it forward
Action: Celehte Put all the maps in to one folder for all to access
-Rapid Response Guide (Toko
Guideline draft - Thanks for comments
Most comments are around compostion of Rap resp team and involvement of level consult and sign offs.
Nominations should come from Programmes but keep team small. Making sure that camps have eyes on all decisions. How are we assessing the potential impact? Camp managers should be consulted - decide at what level - Should be a quick decsions, rapid moving team. Engaem direc and progr direct will do overall sign-off. Will still add and take away from the template. Toko to rework.
Rapd resp team - as a team receiving the responses - Should remain small - but should have representatives in all areas not only in one country
Rap Res Diagnosis Team = Team members should comprise of some ppl outside of PLT. Should have digital person on this team. PLT = consultation group. If PLT heavy things will go slower
5 on Diagnosis team Nominations = Mbong, Diana, Ibrahima - Suggest Eric = Quorum = 3. Political Advisor is a must. May need to revisit.
Attendees: Lindlyn, Toko, Diana W, Sidd, Melita, Irene, Mbong, Camille, Celehte. Excuse: Thembe, Candice, Stefan
Resolute = ongoing. A book has been released
Secondment: Penny-Jane - To Andino Office in June - Sept.
AOB: Comms Officer being Recruited in DRC.
