Also known as alternative or authentic assessment, is a form of testing that requires students to perform a task rather than select an answer from a ready-made list.

Periodic testing throughout the school year. There is little or no feedback given during this assessment.

Assessments are used to help teachers reflect on student's learning as well as the instruction the teacher is providing. Assessments come in many different forms and can be used in any academic subject.
