Definition: Evaluate student learning at the end of a learning unit by comparing it to a standard or exam.

Definition: Teachers can evaluate where students are in their learning progress and determine whether they are on track to performing well on future assessments, such as standardized tests or end-of-course exams.

Definition: Views student's prior knowledge to instruction to analyze strengths, weaknesses, and skills.
