Livy's (Mis)Adventures (Livy and Perseus understand they'll soon…

- - - - To capture the inventor, Livy is forced to recruit the general marching to Corinth under Percy's banner. This is the "Mercer" of the story
        
        Is Leonidas the Mercer? He has an affinity for "mythical creatures". Is the general the same one who has agreed to follow the soldier? Is he the "Mercer"? Or is the "story teller" / "soldier" the Mercer? Is it an entirely new character?
        
        Livy uses the Mercer to achieve her aims. The inventor is finally captured. Construction of a new heaven can begin.
        
        Through the aid of the mercer, Livy begins the mermaid-for-hire operation, in which she raises money by getting the aristocracy to buy mermaid "consorts"
        
        The operation catches the attention of Aerodaii, who increases the scale in whole new ways.
        
        In the end, both Percy and Livy leave together, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. As Ajax and Corinth burn--all based on actions they started-- they flee to save themselves.
        
        A spy from Corinth (the king of they city) is buying up the black goo a mermaid expunges after having intercourse with a human. #
        
        The king knows the goo will feed the needs of a growing Kraken. When the creature is of large enough size, he aims to release it on Ajax, which should force Perseus to break off his siege. #
        
        To retaliate against Ajax, which Perseus' patron city, Corinth unleashes the Kraken on Ajax.

      - Her frustration rises to hostility and anger. The two split. If you can't bring me the inventor, at least bring me money, she says
        
        Perseus is inspired to go to war to win back Livy. He is a mercenary after all. Fighting and adventuring is how he makes his money.
        
        Perseus lays siege on Cornith
        
        Corinth undergoes the brutal conditions of going under siege.
        
        Conditions grow terrible. One night a spy / runner makes a daring escape out of the city, skirting past Perseus' guard.
        
        The man to escape is the Queen's own husband. She doesn't know what he has planned
