Assessment is part of a cycle. When assessment is used to plan instruction, more efficient learning can occur. Using assessments, like benchmarks, can help teachers see what TEKS students still need help in as a group or individually.

Summative
Assessments used at end of units, or to test large chunk of learning. Can be in a test, or project.

Performance
Students are assess on time invested into work, effort, and cooperation with peers.

Formative
There are two types. Formal and informal. Formal are pre-planned, and specific sequence of activities. Informal is spontaneous and gives quick feedback.

Data can be used to plan interventions for struggling students and track progress with interventions.

Reteach using RTI lessons covering TEK 5.2B in a small group. Also, use graphic organizers for place value.
