Definition:This type of assessment is used to monitor students progress. The feedback from this assessment can help the instructor improve his/her teaching.
Examples: Interactive Classroom discussion, exit ticket or a quiz
Definition: This form of assessment is used to evaluate where students are in their learning progress and determine it they are on the right track to perform well on future assessments.
Example: EOC Exam, Chapter Test or a project scored with a rubric
Definition: This type of assessment is used to evaluate student learning at the end of an unit. This assessment is used to compare it with an specific standard or benchmark

Definition: This type of assessment is a form of testing that requires the students to perform a task rather than selection an answer from a teacher-made test.

The Classroom teacher can analyze the effectiveness of the assessments data used in class to help design effective intervention groups and activities.

Teachers can use the assessment data to adjust instruction. For example; during the lesson the teacher can ask questions, listen to students conversations or give the students a pop quiz. According to the results the teacher can go a step back and review the concepts or keep going!
Assessments help teacher 's become better teachers! After given an assessment the teacher's can see what strategies worked best for their students. Students can also use this time to "shine".
